Dear people of Meinisberg
Dear guests

Last year I joined the management of the Seeland Camp on a part-time basis.

In the meantime, I have familiarized myself and gained a first year of experience.

After careful consideration, I have decided, together with my parents, to change the current form of operation of the Seeland Camp in view of the financial and personnel situation:

The private swimming pool Meinisberg will no longer be operated publicly from season 2012.

In the future, it will mainly be available to our guests of the campsite.

However, since we are still interested in a good contact between the village population and our campers, we are planning some activities during the season – depending on the event, possibly also with swimming opportunity.

You would like to come for a swim as a village club or school class – ask us!

News about our existing and new offers can be found in the daily press, the Jura-Blick, flyers and our new homepage.
This will be available in June at www.seeland-camp.ch.

I hope for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you “on the mountain” on another occasion!

Dear people of Meinisberg
Dear guests

Exactly forty years ago, in March 1972, we welcomed our first camping guests.

In the following four decades we have built up the Seeland Camp and Swimming Pool Meinisberg with a lot of heart and soul. Connected with this are many wonderful experiences and encounters with people from near and far, but also quite a few low blows.

During the summer months, we opened the pool to everyone and also took responsibility for the supervision of the pool – without any compensation to cover the costs. But despite our great personal commitment, our operating result was always negative.

In contrast to public swimming pools, as a private pool we could never benefit from financial support from the municipalities.

Our hope for an improvement of the financial situation was also based on the possibility to expand our camping site. At the request of the municipal council, the Department of Justice rejected the expansion of the zone for tourism and recreation in the fall of 2011 and rejected our appeal.

To support and relieve us, our eldest daughter, Brigitte Grütter Grindat, joined the management last year.

In view of the current situation, we have now decided together, after careful consideration, to close the swimming pool to the public as of the 2012 season.

We regret this step very much, as we have always endeavored to provide a service to the population of Meinisberg and the surrounding communities with this offer!

We would like to thank our guests for their loyalty and hope for your understanding!

In the future we will concentrate on taking care of our guests at the camping site.
